A PRAYER

  Lord,  May this shawl be for me a sign of your loving, healing presence.
May it warm when I am weary; may it surround me with encouragement when I am discouraged. May it assure me of your care and comfort when my loved ones and I are in pain. May it remind me that you love me.  And that I am surrounded by the prayers of others .

Prayer Shawl

OUR MINISTRY

The Prayer Shawl Ministry brings us together to pray while knitting or crocheting for those in need of encouragement, who are dealing with illness, trials or sorrow, or even celebrating new life or marriage.  Our handmade shawls become tangible evidence of the love and prayers of the members of this church and of the love of Jesus Christ.  It is our hope that these shawls will be a gift of comfort, hope and peace for the recipients.

 

HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE

   Everyone is welcome to come Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. (church prayer room) when we meet to knit, crochet, and enjoy each other’s fellowship. There will be someone available to teach those interested in learning to knit or crochet.  These are informal times to share our projects and learn from each other. 

  The first Thursday of every month the entire group meets. We will pray together over the shawls and prepare for that month’s congregational blessing.  Some of our members enjoy coming every week and working on their projects or learning.  Others prefer to attend the first Thursday and work at home the rest of the month.
